A note about "business hours:"
I’m so thankful that I get to do both—be a mama and run a small business I love. Because of that, I don’t keep strict business hours. I’ve built my work around motherhood, not the other way around, and may not reply to emails every day. I take Fridays through Sundays off to be fully present with my family, and studio sessions happen on days I can line up childcare since I’m the primary caregiver for our kiddos.
Most outdoor sessions take place during golden hour—right around sunset—when the light is warm, soft, and absolutely dreamy. Depending on your location and the vision for your session, we may shoot earlier in the day if that fits better. Studio sessions typically happen mid-morning to mid-afternoon, when the studio lighting is at its best.
Thank you for understanding and supporting the balance between motherhood and my passion for capturing these fleeting moments—it truly means the world to me!

How does the returning client discount work?
The returning client discount offers $100 off any full outdoor or studio session experience. It's super easy to qualify for the returning client discount - if you have booked and completed one full package paid session with Mikki, you then qualify for the returning client discount from that moment on. The cool thing about the returning client discount is that you don't ever reach a "cap" amount of discounts. Each full session you book in the future will receive the $100 discount. Please note that this discount is for clients who have booked full sessions with mikki, not mini sessions, and does not apply to seasonal mini sessions or already discounted sessions. The discount will be taken off of your remaining balance of your session, not the deposit.

What is the client closet?
My client closet is a closet full of dresses and outfits from different boutiques and designers that I specifically purchase for my clients to use at their photography sessions free of charge. While I may not have something that fits everyone perfectly, I do my best to have most sizes in the range of newborn through adult XXL. I can't promise i have something for everyone, but clients are welcome to Look at the options online after booking a session and choose the items they would like to use. After the session is over, I take the outfits home to clean and prep for future sessions! All of this is included in full sessions and is no additional fee.

How would you describe your photography style?
My work is inspired by natural connection and storytelling. I use neutral palettes, organic environments, and an intentional incorporation of artistic lighting and elements to bring depth and emotion to each image. Whether we’re outdoors at golden hour or in the soft light of the studio, my goal is to create imagery that feels like memory — authentic, tender, and timeless.

When will I receive my photos after the session?
All full Galleries are delivered within 30 days of your session date. however, this time fluctuates depending on my current session workload. If I do have time, sometimes I will offer sneak peeks of sessions which consist of just a few photos from the session either shared directly with you or posted to social media.
The ANnual Motherhood Memories Event has a different delivery timeframe, and that is provided each year when booking :)

Do you take any posed shots during sessions?
My photography style is mainly made up of candid moments and real emotions that cannot be reproduced through poses. The majority of the pictures I take are not traditionally posed images. However, I do start each session with a posed shot to get the "Christmas Card" style photo... because, let's be real, my family does a christmas card every year too and I just need one photo for the front of the card :) After that, we let things flow naturally while you play with your kids, nurse your baby, etc.! I love focusing on in-between moments and small details!

Are your photos color or black and white?
All of my RAW images are shot in color. I do the majority of my editing in color as well. However, some images speak to me more in black & white than in color, and I choose to edit those photos in black & white. I feel that black & whites focus on the emotion more than the outfits and setting.

Can I get the raw photos from my session?
No, but here's why: while you receive many beautifully edited images after your session, there are photos that I do not include in galleries because they are not flattering and do not reflect the quality of work that I provide to my clients. For that reason, you do not have the option to receive any unedited images, and you will not receive every single image I take at your session. HOWEVER, my full sessions are all-inclusive and do include all of the images I deem to fit my standards for an artistic, well crafted image that will curate your digital gallery.
